Add a Group Approval
About this task
Use the Group Approval activity where the workflow requires approvals from users of a SOTI Snap user group.
Procedure
- In the Workflow Canvas, open the Project tab.
- Select the Workflow dropdown. The Workflow Designer opens.
- Open the Activities tab.
- Drag and drop the Group Approval workflow activity onto the Workflow Designer.
- In the Properties panel, enter a name for the activity in the Display Text field. The name appears on the icon in the workflow.

In the App Approvers field, type the name of a group you
would like to provide approvals at this part of the workflow. When found, click
the group name to add it to your list. You can continue to add groups as
required.
Note: The list of available groups flows from SOTI Identity and includes any integrated third-party identity providers (IDPs).

Select other Group Approval settings as required.
Number of Approvers Select how many approvers are required to approve an activity. Options are: - All Approvers From Each Group Must Approve
- A Fixed Number of Approvers From Each
Group Must ApproveNote: You must provide the number of approvers required.
Notes Settings Select the following options if you wish to provide approvers with the option to add notes about their decision: - Enable Approval Notes
- Enable Rejection Notes
Specify whether notes are Required or Optional for each enabled setting.
Send Back to Submitter Select Allow 'Send Back To Submitter' Action if you want the approver to be able to revert the workflow to the submitter for correction and resubmission. If selected, you can also select Enable Notes to provide approvers with the option to add notes about their decision. If enabled, specify whether notes are Required or Optional.
Edit Settings Select Allow Editing for Approver(s) if you wish to allow the approver to modify the request. -
Select Save in the SOTI Snap
banner to apply your changes.
