Bitdefender Cloud Connection

The SOTI MobiControl administrator creates and assigns an antivirus payload configuration to the SOTI MobiControl device agent. This payload scans only .apk files. The SOTI MobiControl agent calls SOTI Services Activate URL with a Registration ID or Installation ID, and LicenseTypeID.

Note: The antivirus-applied device requires the following connections:
  • Endpoint mobicontrolservices.soti.net port 443

  • Endpoint *.bitdefender.net port 443

The SOTI MobiControl agent receives antivirus activation information. The SOTI MobiControl agent stores the license key and payload configuration that the administrator specifies. Bitdefender SDK present in the SOTI MobiControl agent is initialized, so that you can use Bitdefender APIs for scanning packages. Bitdefender SDK retrieves metadata about the files and applications.

The Bitdefender SDK sends metadata to the Bitdefender Cloud for scanning. After the Bitdefender Cloud scans the metadata, the Bitdefender Cloud sends the scan results to the SOTI MobiControl agent. The SOTI MobiControl agent sends the scan results to the web console.

Note:

File System Monitoring scans the newly downloaded or modified .apk files on the device immediately. If Application Monitoring is enabled on Antivirus Payload when you install an .apk with ADB, install it manually, or use other means to update a package, the .apk gets scanned.
