Managing Enrollment Rules
About this task
When you enroll a device to a group, and you use the Enroll with Enrollment ID option, you generate enrollment rules. This regulates the restrictions that control who can use the enrollment ID to enroll into the SOTI Snap group connected to the enrollment ID.
The Enrollment Rules view has the following columns:
- Name: Displays the name of an enrollment rule.
- Enrollment ID: Displays the unique Enrollment ID generated for the rule. Device users need this Enrollment ID to enroll their device.
- Device Limit: Displays the number of devices that you can enroll using this enrollment rule.
- Devices: Displays the number of devices that are currently enrolled with this enrollment rule.
- Password: Displays if the device user needs to enter a password to enroll their device.
- Group: Displays the name of group mapped to the enrollment rule.
- Modified By: Displays the name of the user who has last modified the enrollment rule.
- Last Modified: Displays the date and time when the enrollment rule was last edited.
- Actions: Provides other actions you can perform on the enrollment rule. These options may vary depending on the state of the enrollment rule.
Procedure

For the following available tasks, follow the respective corresponding
procedure:
Task Procedure Filtering Enrollment Rules To filter enrollment rules: - On the Enrollment Rules view, select the All, Active, or Inactive (See ① of diagram) filter.
Result: The Enrollment Rules view updates with the filter you selected.
Viewing an Enrollment Rule's Enrollment ID To view an enrollment rule's enrollment ID: - On the Enrollment Rules view, for a enrollment rule's Enrollment ID, select (See ② of diagram).
- Share the enrollment details with your app users.
- Optional: To automatically enroll SOTI MobiControl enrolled devices into SOTI Snap, see Auto-enroll Devices into SOTI Snap.
- Select OK.
Editing an Enrollment Rule To edit an enrollment rule: - On the Enrollment Rules view, open More > Edit (See ③ of diagram) corresponding with the enrollment rule you want to edit.
- For the Name field, enter a name for this enrollment rule.
- For the Device Name Prefix
field, enter a prefix that determines how SOTI Snap labels enrolled
devices in the Device Manager
view after enrollment. For example, entering
London will generate device

. - For the Device Limit field, specify how many devices can use this enrollment rule to enroll. Leave the field empty to enable unlimited enrollments.
- Optional: Select Advanced
Settings for more options. Enable any
options that you want to apply.
- Enable Pin: When enabled, SOTI Snap Device Agent prompts app users to create a PIN during enrollment. However, users are not required to add the PIN unless Make it mandatory is also selected. If you force app users to create a PIN, specify the minimum number of digits required for that PIN.
- Set Enrollment Password: Sets a password that the device users must enter to log into the SOTI Snap Device Agent and complete their enrollment. Select the checkbox and then enter the password in the text field.
- Skip Onboarding Screens: When enabled,
a newly installed SOTI Snap Device Agent skips all
onboarding screens. Tip: If you plan on automatically enrolling using SOTI MobiControl (step 4.g), you can further streamline the process to enroll the SOTI Snap app to devices without requiring any device user interaction. Set the following:
- Enable Skip Onboarding Screens
- Deselect Enable PIN
- Deselect Set Enrollment Password
- Get Enrollment Details: Sends the details of this enrollment rule to your registered email address. You can then forward this email to device users for enrollment.
- Select Update.
Result: The enrollment rule updates with the configurations you have set.
Deactivating/Activating Enrollment Rule Enrollment rules are active as soon as you create them. If you deactivated an enrollment rule, you can later reactivate it.
While an enrollment rule is inactive( deactivated), all devices associated with that enrollment rule can no longer access their apps.To deactivate/activate an enrollment rule:Results: The enrollment rule is now inactive (deactivated) / active (activated).- On the Enrollment Rules view, open More > Deactivate / Activate (See ④ of diagram) corresponding with the enrollment rule you want to deactivate / activate.
- Select Deactivate / Activate.
Deleting an Enrollment Rule To delete an enrollment rule: - On the Enrollment Rules view, open More > Delete (See ⑤ of diagram) corresponding with the enrollment rule you want to delete.
- Select Delete.
Results: The deleted enrollment rule no longer appear in the Enrollment Rules view.
