Users and Roles

Users in SOTI Snap must be assigned a role to inherit permissions. The following roles are provided by default:

• Administrator
• App Developer
• Development Manager
• Device Manager
• User Manager

Default roles have fixed permissions that can be viewed, but not modified, from General Permissions. To create roles different permission sets, you must create custom roles and modify those accordingly.

Users that have not been given permission to use SOTI Snap in SOTI Identity do not appear in the list of valid users, and cannot be granted access or permissions. When permission to use SOTI Snap is removed from a user in SOTI Identity, that user is also removed from the user list in SOTI Snap.

Users added through SOTI Identity are automatically assigned the User Management (Identity) role.

While user roles can be assigned from both SOTI Identity and SOTI Snap, assignments from SOTI Identity will supersede those from SOTI Snap. Changes to role assignment made in SOTI Snap are not reflected to the assigned roles visible in SOTI Identity.
