SOTI Snap Data Access Controller (DAC)
- Setting up the SOTI Snap Data Access Controller
  To setup the SOTI Snap Data Access Controller (DAC), you must download the setup wizard, install the SOTI Snap DAC, and then access it from your local machine using a web browser.
- Creating a New Service for SOTI Snap Data Access Controller
  Create a RESTful API service by connecting to an existing database. SOTI Snap applications can then perform create, read, update and delete (CRUD) operations on database table data using the API.
- Importing An SSL Certificate for SOTI Snap Data Access Controller
  By default, the SOTI Snap DAC uses an insecure HTTP connection between a SOTI Snap application and the SOTI Snap DAC endpoint. This connection sends plain text messages that are vulnerable to threats. You can upload a SSL certificate to use the more secure HTTPS protocol to provide an extra layer of protection using encryption and verification.
- Viewing the SOTI Snap Data Access Controller Request History
  You can view the history of your SOTI Snap DAC by reviewing the most recent 100,000 requests. You can also delete the request history by selecting Remove Request History.

  From the API Docs tab, you can view the API documentation to construct an API URL for yourself so you can connect to your DAC endpoints. You can also use the Construct URL feature to have the SOTI Snap Data Access Controller help you construct an API URL.

- Connecting SOTI Snap Apps to the SOTI Snap DAC Service
  After app_user/creating_a_new_service.html, you can customize your SOTI Snap application to connect to the SOTI Snap DAC service. SOTI Snap applications can access the SOTI Snap DAC service from the following SOTI Snap tools:

Managing SOTI Snap Data Access Controller Settings

Customize the settings of your SOTI Snap DAC.

From Security tab's Security sub-tab, you can manage the password complexity for SOTI Snap applications accessing your API endpoints.

Request History page: Security tab

You can configure the following:

The minimum number of characters the password must have.
If the password must have at least one digit.
If the password must have at least one upper case letter.
If the password must have at least one lower case letter.
If the password must have at least one special character (#?!@$^&*-).

After configuring the API password complexity, select Save.

From Security tab's Driver's sub-tab, choose the ODBC driver to connect to the Microsoft SQL Server database. You need to choose an ODBC driver when creating a new service for SOTI Snap DAC using Microsoft SQL Server (see Creating a New Service for SOTI Snap Data Access Controller):

ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server
SQL Server Native Client 11.0
SQL Server Native Client RDA 11.0

Choose the driver and select Save.
