SOTI Connect is an enterprise-grade management solution that provides an organization with complete lifecycle management of its mobile and industrial printers. With the release of SOTI Connect 2025.0, IT administrators can take advantage of the Rules Expansion update to automate a sequence of tasks to replace manual updates to devices and configured settings. Productivity gains continue for IT admins, as Protocol Adapter (PA) Remote Management removes the manual, one-at-a-time component of updating PAs firmware. The addition of Light Mode and Dark Mode options lets you fine-tune the interface.
Let’s take a look at these new features.
Manage & Monitor Printers More Effectively
In SOTI Connect, Rules are used to update managed printers. The Rules Expansion update can automate actions based on whether the previous action succeeded or failed. This mimics what a printer admin would do manually and ensures specific actions are taken automatically if something goes wrong. If an action fails, printer admins will also have visibility into where it failed in the sequence and whether it was caused by the device or something else.
Take the example of firmware updates to a label printer. The printer admin may first need to configure settings before the firmware is uploaded to the printer and installed. This may take several manual steps, each one needing to be completed before the next one starts.
Rules within SOTI Connect can initiate the action that updates the configured settings and define what happens if it fails to complete. For example, you can repeat the update configured settings action a few times before interrupting the sequence.
Moving on to the next action in the sequence, the upload of the latest firmware is initiated. Again, if it fails, you can prescribe if you want to delay and then repeat the step.
The final action would be to update the firmware.
With the detailed Rules History, SOTI Connect shows where rule failures occur. This provides a clear path to troubleshoot the rule and, more importantly, identify the devices where the rule failed that still need attention.

Additional Rule Expansions for SOTI Connect 2025.0
Conditional Rules: Individual automation rules and group automation rules are now combined into a single type of rule. Conditional Rules appear on a single screen where you can toggle between the two. It simplifies access for all the rules your business-critical printing operations rely on.
Rules History Enhancements: View all historical executions of rules, actions and device executions on your printers. This information is exportable, sortable and filterable, making it easier than ever to spot trends that lead to failure and take proper corrective action.
Granular Rules Permissions: For all rule types, admins can set up permissions. This ensures greater control over who has access or the ability to enact or run rules.
Upgrade SOTI Connect Versions Faster
As PAs facilitate the exchange of data between a printer and its management software, ensuring the PAs are updated to the newest version of SOTI Connect is crucial. However, having to update the server and then each PA individually requires time-consuming manual effort.
With SOTI Connect 2025.0, PA Remote Management can now automatically detect when the current version is outdated and upgrade all PAs quickly without interrupting operations. You can then take advantage of the latest version of SOTI Connect without having to manually update the PAs one at a time. This means gaining access to the newest features of printer firmware updates—such as bug fixes and security enhancements–faster.
Companies with network configurations that require local PAs can greatly benefit from this update. Let’s say you are responsible for a retail store chain or a transportation and logistics company with hundreds of warehouses that use label printers. Consider the effort to update the PAs for 500 locations. This would be time-consuming, tedious and expensive. With SOTI Connect 2025.0, updating the PAs for all 500 locations would be a quick and seamless process that allows your workers to keep working with the newest version.

Light Mode vs. Dark Mode
The SOTI Connect console gives users the chance to work in Light Mode or Dark Mode. Light Mode is best in bright environments, as it offers superior readability. Dark Mode, on the other hand, works best in low-light environments, as the reduced brightness is easier on the eyes.
Users can choose their preference or SOTI Connect can automatically select which is best based on the operating system’s (OS) preference.

Additional Updates to SOTI Connect 2025.0
-
Firmware Update Available Status: SOTI Connect provides a status update when a new printer firmware update is available. As a result, users will know to visit the file store for the update. Alternatively, users can automate firmware updates as well.
-
Optimized Delta Storage for Data Collection Rules: Instead of storing entire data sets from devices, SOTI Connect only stores the deltas (the differences between the current state of the device and its previous state). This minimizes data redundancy, making it an ideal feature for environments where data volume is large and transmission bandwidth is limited.
