The event will take place at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road – Dublin City’s largest hotel, located only a stone’s throw from St. Stephens Green, Trinity College Dublin, and the Aviva Stadium. The proximity to some of Dublin’s most famous landmarks ensures that SOTI SYNC 18 attendees can experience all that this vibrant city has to offer.
After busy and productive days at the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to join us for the SOTI SYNC 18 afterparty held at the Guinness Storehouse at St. James’ Gate Brewery in Dublin. Whether you know it as ‘a pint of plain’, ‘a pint of the black stuff’ or ‘that drink with the toucan’, Guinness stout is an Irish icon and there’s no better place to experience it. Opened in 1759, the brewery started on a 9000-year lease for an annual fee of £45! The store house is an experience for all the senses and the creativity even extends to the building itself; Seven floors, built around a rising glass shaped atrium…you’re standing in one giant pint glass!
You can also use your time in Ireland to explore some ancient castles such as the Malahide Castle, built in 1185, which is still haunted today by it’s jester who had fallen in love with a prisoner and mysteriously died a few days later. Many people have claimed to see his ghost roaming around the castle.
If you are a Game of Thrones fan, then don’t miss the opportunity to explore over 20 main filming locations on the ancient sprawling demesne on of Old Castle Ward including Winterfell Castle and the tower that Bran Stark ‘fell’ from! You can even recreate a picture with grand attire and a beautiful landscape background.
This vibrant city has much to offer, whether you attend the Dublin Theatre Festival, golf at beautiful courses that Rory McIlroy has played on, go sea-fishing or attend the Galway International Oyster Festival, there is definitely something here for you.
