Navigating Device Chaos in a New Digital Era: SOTI Unveils Five Themes Shaping the Future of Enterprise Mobility
Global research shows organizations face mounting device chaos as automation and AI adoption accelerate, making strategic device mobility the competitive edge for growth and innovation.
Mississauga, CANADA – October 15, 2025 – SOTI, a leader in Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM), released its latest State of Mobility Report, revealing how businesses are navigating a new era defined by device chaos, automation acceleration and the urgent need for smarter, more strategic mobility management.
The report, titled “The Mobility Mandate: Navigating Device Chaos & Strategic Automation in a New Digital Era,” uncovers a mounting challenge: organizations are struggling to manage the explosion of mobile and IoT devices while simultaneously racing to automate operations. Businesses across healthcare, emergency services, transportation and logistics (T&L), and distributed workforce environments are turning to mobile technology to drive operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and prepare for the next wave of automation and intelligence.
Based on proprietary research spanning 7,300 respondents in 11 countries, the report identifies five key themes driving the future of enterprise mobility.
-
Using Uniformity to Your Advantage: Organizations must tailor mobile technology to diverse workflows and user needs, rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions. For example, in T&L, rugged handhelds and tablets are used an average of 3.5 days per week across all roles. Meanwhile, mobile printers are used daily by 37% of T&L workers, with 74% using them at least a few times per week.
-
Operational Intelligence: The shift from reactive troubleshooting to predictive diagnostics is essential for minimizing downtime and improving frontline performance. Only 54% of distributed workers are supported with video/talk/text, highlighting the importance of real-time visibility in managing dispersed teams and their devices.
-
The Automation Wave: Automation is accelerating across sectors, but legacy systems and manual processes continue to hinder progress and increase risk. 97% of healthcare organizations still use legacy technology, and 57% report security-related issues stemming from outdated systems.
-
Frontline Realities: Device issues and poor integration directly impact worker well-being, productivity and customer outcomes, especially in high-pressure environments. In emergency services, 92% of first responders report experiencing device issues weekly, with an average resolution time of 21 minutes – underscoring the need for robust device management and support systems.
-
Long-Term Strategy: Visibility and interconnection across mobile systems are critical for building resilience, sustainability and competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
“As organizations scale and digitize, mobility is no longer a support function—it’s the backbone of competitiveness,” said Shash Anand, SVP of Product Strategy at SOTI. “This research makes clear: businesses must move from ad-hoc device management to intelligent, strategic mobility that ensures resilience, agility and measurable ROI.”
The findings also reinforce the critical role of the SOTI ONE Platform in solving these mobility challenges. From SOTI XSight’s diagnostic intelligence to SOTI Snap’s ability to digitize processes and enterprise-grade printer lifecycle management with SOTI Connect, SOTI ONE empowers organizations to simplify mobility management and accelerate digital transformation.
