Enhanced Control with Lockdown for Windows
The What
With Lockdown for Windows, your organization can easily design lockdown configurations for various apps and settings to control a device’s access. Examples include, streamlining workflows with single-app mode and automatically engaging users by playing video content after a pre-determined period of inactivity. For each configuration created, you can use a live screen preview to confirm the Lockdown screen does exactly what you want.
The Why
So many organizations use Windows powered terminals for customer kiosk type use cases, which requires the need to find a balance between security and user experience. With the features of Lockdown mode, you can ensure your devices are secure while device users can access the apps they need with ease. When the computer sits idle, you can take advantage of Lockdown for Windows’ ability to promote important events and promotional campaigns.
Faster and More Efficient Windows Updates
The What
With SOTI MobiControl, you can make updating Windows faster, more efficient and less of a manual effort for IT Admins.
The Why
Three Windows Update issues that businesses commonly experience are bandwidth consumption, lack of visibility into pending updates and a dependency on a single source.
SOTI MobiControl speeds up and optimizes Windows Update downloads and overall bandwidth, which reduces valuable time and costs. With a consolidated dashboard for pending downloads, this level of visibility also decreases admin efforts and streamlines update approval processes.
Use DDM for Enhanced iOS and iPadOS Management
The What
To enhance your iOS and iPadOS management methods, use Apple’s Declarative Device Management (DDM) protocol in SOTI MobiControl.
The Why
Imagine managing a fleet of iPhones and iPads across your organization. Your goal is precise device configuration to reduce network traffic and maintain security and efficiency. However, configuring each device with the latest settings using traditional management methods is cumbersome and error prone.
With SOTI MobiControl and Apple DDM, you can streamline profile creation and deployment of iPhones and iPads. In addition DDM will reduce network bandwidth caused by unnecessary polling of the device and allow the device to apply configurations based on your own logical conditions. This proactive approach ensures iOS and iPadOS devices are secure, productive and compliant.
Seamless and Efficient App Deployment for Windows
The What
Elevate your app deployments for Windows devices with an enhanced user interface. Deploy Microsoft Store and enterprise (.exe) apps through the Windows Modern app policy for a better app deployment experience.
The Why
Installing, configuring and deploying apps on Windows devices does not need to be difficult, especially when managing many devices. SOTI MobiControl is flexible enough to provide multiple methods for application deployment. IT Admins can make certain apps mandatory, and their installation will be silently performed without user intervention. In other cases, recommended apps can be optionally installed at the discretion of the device user via the App Catalog interface.
Introducing SOTI Surf Support for Windows
The What
SOTI Surf is a secure and managed internet browser that supports Android, iOS and now Windows devices. It provides users with a fast, familiar browsing experience, making it simple to access their organization’s content on their devices.
The Why
By using SOTI Surf, you don’t have to worry about securing business-critical apps on your Windows devices. Define a consistent look and limit to what can be accessed by the device’s onboard browser. It also works to improve user experiences, control browser features and manage the browsing interface on your business’s behalf.
Enhance Device Management with Three New Signal Capabilities
The What
A Signal policy is a combination of conditions, actions and scheduling, which executes a specific action based on your custom configuration. SOTI MobiControl offers flexibility in what operating systems Signal policies support, this includes Android, Apple, Windows, Linux and ChromeOS.
With the following three new Signal capabilities, IT Admins can more efficiently manage a business’ mobile fleet:
-
Additional Signal Device Actions: The following device actions can be used when a policy is triggered: logging out of shared devices, blocking Microsoft Exchange access, allowing or blocking SOTI Hub access and clearing SOTI Hub’s cache.
-
Added Support for Outdoor Geofences: Automated actions, such as relocating a device or triggering an alert, are now supported based on a device’s entry or exit of an outdoor geofence.
-
Flexible Cloud Link Agent Properties: Instead of manually monitoring the health of Cloud Link Agents, administrators can use Signal policies to configure automated actions for the occurrence of a specific Cloud Link Agent event.
The Why
Each of these Signal policies provides an efficient, effective method to manage and monitor devices without requiring 24/7 administrative support. For example, if a device is removed from your business’ geofence, it could be configured to trigger an alert, which tells the device to block SOTI Hub access. This ensures any business-critical data on the device remains secure.
