For Toronto Metropolitan University, the partnership helps us achieve our goal to create opportunities for our students to be involved in ground-breaking research projects and to work alongside industry-leading professionals. Since its launch, the Department of Aerospace Engineering has focused its research on vision systems for indoor environments, including smart avoidance, auto location of people and objects, self-navigation, self-learning and situational understanding, which will be brought to market by SOTI’s proven commercialization.

As Toronto’s truly global, city-building university, Toronto Metropolitan University lives by the values of inclusion, innovation and service. Toronto Metropolitan University takes great pride in its commitment to prepare students to become bold, fearless leaders and changemakers. By partnering with SOTI, Toronto Metropolitan University’s Department of Aerospace Engineering can provide students with access to high-tech facilities and the opportunity to contribute to unique research projects through emerging technologies.

I am proud to be named Research Chair. This is an incredibly valuable hands-on opportunity to collaborate with world-class industry experts on research, as well as the chance to network and explore innovations in the sector. Together, we will work to further establish Canada as a global hub for cutting-edge aerospace innovation, and further establish the university’s reputation as an international destination for aerospace learning.
