Web Clip (iOS)
Use this configuration to define how to treat web clips. You do this when:
Web clips are essentially shortcuts to URLs. Files and websites are often the target URLs.
SOTI MobiControl stores web clips on the device and web clips point directly to the source, for example a PDF hosted on a company website. A web clip would point to the source address.
Name | Name for the web clip as it appears on the device. |
URL | URL path to the web clip. Tip: If you have installed and configured SOTI Surf on your devices, you can set Web Clips to automatically open in
the SOTI Surf browser. Add
surf:// in front of the URL. Example:
surf://www.soti.net. |
Web Clip Icon | Icon for the web clip as it appears on the device. |
Notes | Description of the web clip. |
Allow Device User to Remove the Web Clip. | Enable the device user to remove the web clip. |
No additional visual effects will be applied to the icon | Do not apply additional visual effects to the icon. |
Open web clip in full screen mode | Opens the web clip in full screen mode. |
Target Application | Enter the default application to open when visiting the URL path. Optional: This can be a browser application. |
App Bundle Identifier | The bundle ID for the target application. This field is automatically filled in when you enter and select a Target Application. |
