DNS Proxy Managed Applications

The DNS Proxy facilitates application management within your MDM environment by providing DNS-level control over application access. This enables fine-grained control over which applications can access specific domains or network resources. It requires supervision and iOS 11 or later. You perform this configuration when:

DNS Proxy Network Extension

The following fields are in the DNS Proxy Network Extension panel:

Application Name The name of the DNS proxy application name.
App Bundle Identifier The bundle identifier of the application containing the DNS proxy network extension. This field is automatically filled when you enter the DNS proxy application name in the Application Name field.
Network Extension Bundle Identifier The bundle identifier of the DNS proxy network extension to use. Declaring the bundle identifier is useful for applications that contain more than one DNS proxy extension.
Provider Configuration

This is for advanced settings. If a DNS provider or network vendor has a specific configuration file, they can either copy it here or enter the key/value pairs manually.

The Manage Applications panel lists the applications the DNS proxy applies to.
Note: Users can add applications that the DNS Proxy applies to in the Manage Applications panel.
