Configuring the Finder Payload (macOS)
The Finder profile configuration enables you to configure which Finder
settings and actions the user's macOS device enables.
Restriction: This
configuration is available for macOS devices version 10.7 or later.
You perform this configuration when:
Preferences
Use this section to select the Finder type and display the desktop items.
Use Regular Finder/ Use Simple Finder | Select from the regular Finder or the simple Finder to display as default on the desktop. |
CDs, DVDs, and iPods | Show icons for any inserted media on the desktop. |
Connected Server | Show icons for any connected servers on the desktop. |
External Disk | Show icons for connected external disks on the desktop. |
Hard Disk | Show the device's hard disk icon on the desktop. |
Warning Before Empty Trash | When enabled, display a warning prompt before emptying the Trash to require the user to confirm that the operation should proceed. |
Commands
Use this section to select the commands you want to make available to users.
Burn Disc | Enables the user to write permanent information on a CD or DVD. |
Connect to Server | Enables the user to open a dialog box to find and connect to servers on a network. |
Eject | Enables the user to eject removable media and mountable volumes. |
Go To Folder | Enables the user to open files or folders by typing the path name. |
Log Out | Enables the user to access the logout command from the Apple menu. |
Restart | Enables the user to access the restart command from the Apple menu. |
Shut Down | Enables the user to access the shutdown command from the Apple menu. |
