Creating an API Client

Before you begin

You must have:
  • Manage API Clients permission to add, edit and delete API clients.

About this task

To create the API client for SOTI MobiControl:
Note: If you have an on-premises SOTI MobiControl installation, you can still use the old method of creating an API client. See Finding Your Client ID and Client Secret.

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the SOTI MobiControl console and from the main menu select:
    Global Settings > Services > API Client.
  2. In the API Client screen, select the Add API Client button.

  3. In the Add API Client panel, enter a Name for the new API client.

  4. Select Generate.
  5. The Add API Client screen shows the details of the newly created API client.

    Note: Copy and store the client ID and client secret before moving to the next step. After this dialog closes, you cannot retrieve the client secret.
    Note: The client ID and client secret are automatically generated and you cannot change them.
    Note: The grant type is automatically selected and is of type Password. You cannot change it.
  6. Select the OK button.
  7. The newly created API Client displays in the API Client screen.
