Assigning Custom Roles

About this task

Once the user roles are configured, you can assign the roles to different users or user groups, and the users will inherit the set of permissions defined for that role.

Procedure

  1. In the SOTI Identity admin console, open the main menu in the top-left and select Users.
  2. Select the Roles tab.
  3. Select the role you want to assign.
  4. Find the user or user group whose role you want to change and open the Role dropdown list. Select new roles or clear existing roles for the user or user group.
    Tip: Use the search field to find users and user groups faster.
  5. Select Update to save your changes.

Results

Permissions are updated for the selected users the next time they sign in.
