Global Settings: General

Use the General pane to configure SOTI Connect settings and add URLs to other SOTI systems.

General Configuration
Setting Details
System of Measurement Select the measurement system used in SOTI Connect for displaying values:
  • Metric
  • Imperial
Note: This does not affect device behaviour.
Transaction Timeout Define how long SOTI Connect waits for a device response before cancelling the connection attempt. This helps in scenarios such as:
  • Performing multiple device check-ins simultaneously, which may cause time-outs.
  • Managing remote device types with slower response times.
For most use cases, the default settings are sufficient. The maximum transaction timeout is five minutes.

To override the maximum value, edit AppSettings.json and restart the Management Server.

In a failover setup, stop all Management Servers, change the value in AppSettings.json for each server, and restart them.
Connection Ping Interval Specify the interval at which SOTI Connect checks the connection status of devices.
Note: This setting applies only to REST and SNMP Protocol Adapters.
External Permission Cache Lifetime Set the duration for caching user permissions retrieved from external services (for example, Microsoft Graph).
Default Permission Assign a default role for users without a predefined role (for example, users from a third-party identity provider).
Unique Group Names Enforce unique group names within a parent group.
Enable Audit Logs Allow SOTI Connect to maintain historical logs of user activity.
Database Configuration View the name and network location of the SOTI Connect database. These read-only values are created during the installation of SOTI Connect.
Device Registry Configuration Enable and configure settings for Device Registry.

Requires authentication details for the Device Registry, and a certificate file in .CER format.

Note: SOTI Connect does not track certificates used to set up the Device Registry. You must manually track their expiration dates.
Device License Configuration Manage and configure alert thresholds and notifications for device licenses.
Security Access Manage and configure client IDs and secrets. See Configuring Security Access for more details.
Access Control Policy Configure access policies for SOTI Connect local account users.
File Store Configuration Configure automatic file deletion for File Store.
Note: Default retention period: 30 days.
