Restarting the Management Server

About this task

Use this task to restart the SOTI Connect Management Server (MS) when required. This is typically necessary after uploading a new Device Type Definition (DTD) file so that changes take effect.

Restarting the Management Server can be performed while users are active in the system. Users may notice a brief delay in the SOTI Connect interface during the restart.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the following directory C:\Program Files\SOTI\Connect\Soti.IoT.Watchdog\lib\Release\net8.0-windows .
  2. Right-click Soti.Iot.Watchdog.exe and select Run as Administrator. The SOTI Connect Watchdog window opens.

  3. Select the SOTICONNECTMS service.
  4. Select Stop and wait until the status changes to Stopped.
  5. Select Start to restart the service.

Results

The Management Server restarts successfully, and any changes (such as uploaded DTD files) take effect.
