Finder
The Finder profile configuration enables you to configure which Finder settings and actions are allowed on the user's macOS device when:
Preferences
Use this section to select the Finder type and desktop items to display.
Use Regular Finder | Display the regular Finder by default on the desktop. |
Use Simple Finder | Display the simple Finder by default on the desktop. |
CDs, DVDs, and iPods | Show icons for any inserted media on the desktop. |
Connected Server | Show icons for any connected servers on the desktop. |
External Disk | Show icons for any connect external disks on the desktop. |
Hard Disk | Show the device's hard disk icon on the desktop. |
Warning Before Empty Trash | Display a warning prompt before emptying the Trash, to require the user to confirm that the operation should proceed. |
Commands
Use this section to select the commands you want to make available to users.
Burn Disc | Enable the user to write permanent information to a CD or DVD. |
Connect to Server | Enable the user to open a dialog box to find and connect to servers on a network. |
Eject | Enable the user to eject removable media and mountable volumes. |
Go To Folder | Enable the user to open files or folders by typing the path name. |
Log Out | Enable the user to access the logout command from the Apple menu. |
Restart | Enable the user to access the restart command from the Apple menu. |
Shut Down | Enable the user to access the shutdown command from the Apple menu. |
