Feature Control (Android Classic)
Use this dialog box to configure individual device features.
Device Functionality
Features
| Allow Camera | When enabled, device users can access the device's camera. |
| Allow Microphone | When enabled, device users can use the device microphone to capture or record audio. |
| Allow USB Media Player | When enabled, the device may be used to act as a media player when connected via USB. |
| Allow NFC | When enabled, the device user can use the Near Field Communication (NFC) protocol on their device. |
| Allow Home Key | When enabled, the device user can use the Home button. |
| Allow Screen Capture | When enabled, the device user can capture the device screen. |
| Allow GPS Mock Locations | When enabled, device users can report mock locations when GPS is not available. |
| Allow Factory Reset | When enabled, device users can erase all applications, settings and data from the phone's internal storage. |
| Allow OS Upgrade | When enabled, the operating system of the device can be upgraded, whether initiated by user, server and system. |
| Enforce GPS Availability | When enabled, the device's location is always on and the device user cannot disable it. |
| Allow Safe Mode | When enabled, device users can enter safe mode on the device. |
Settings
| Allow Installation From Unknown Sources | When enabled, device users can install applications from unknown sources. |
| Allow Multi-Window | When enabled, device users can view multiple applications on their screen at once. |
| Allow Voice Dialer/ S-Voice | When enabled, device users can use the voice recognition system to make phone calls. |
| Allow changes to Quick Settings | When enabled, device users can add or remove settings in the Quick Settings menu of the device. |
| Allow changes to Time and Date | When enabled, device users can change the time or date of the device. |
| Allow changes to Battery Settings | When enabled, device users can change the battery settings on the device. |
Connectivity
Cellular Network
| Allow Cellular Data | When enabled, devices can use cellular data. |
| Allow Background Data | When enabled, applications can use data services while running in the background of the device.
Important: The SOTI MobiControl device agent typically runs in the background and its ability to communicate with the SOTI MobiControl server can be affected by this setting. If cellular data is being used by devices to communicate with SOTI MobiControl Server(s), devices will not be manageable while they are connected to a cellular network. If devices are configured to communicate with the SOTI MobiControl Server(s) only while they are on the cellular network (i.e. No WiFi or other connectivity to SOTI MobiControl Server(s)), devices will not be manageable in all cases. Please exercise caution when disabling background data.

| Allow Data Roaming | When enabled, devices can use data while in foreign coverage areas. |
| Allow Roaming WAP PUSH Messages | When enabled, devices can receive WAP Push messages while in foreign coverage areas. |
| Allow Roaming Syncing | When enabled, devices can sync data (i.e. email) while in foreign coverage areas. |
WiFi
| Allow WiFi | When enabled, device users can turn on WiFi |
| Allow WiFi Profiles | When enabled, device users can create WiFi profiles. |
| Allow WiFi profile changes | When enabled, device users can make changes to existing WiFi profiles. |
| Allow WiFi Credentials Prompt | When enabled, devices users are asked for WiFi credentials when their saved credentials fail during authentication for a saved network. |
| Minimum WiFi Security Level | Set the minimum WiFi Security Level in which the device is able to connect to. E.g. if the minimum WiFi security level is set to WPA, the device will not be able to connect to a WEP network. |
Bluetooth
| Allow Bluetooth | When enabled, device users can enable Bluetooth. |
| Allow Outgoing Calls Via Bluetooth | When enabled, device users can make outbound calls using a paired Bluetooth device. |
| Allow Bluetooth Discoverable mode | When enabled, the device can be discovered by other Bluetooth devices. |
| Allow Limited Bluetooth Discoverable mode | When enabled, the device is only discoverable over Bluetooth for a short period of time (varies from device to device). |
| Allow Bluetooth Pairing | When enabled, the device can pair with other devices over Bluetooth. |
| Allow Bluetooth Data Transfer | When enabled, the device can transfer data over Bluetooth. |
| Allow Bluetooth Desktop Pairing | When enabled, the device can pair with a desktop using Bluetooth. |
Tethering and Portable Hotspot
| Allow All Tethering | When enabled, device users can tether their device. |
| Allow WiFi Hotspot | When enabled, device users can share the device's data connection over WiFi. |
| Allow WiFi Hotspot Changes | When enabled, device users can change mobile hotspot settings. |
| Allow Bluetooth Tethering | When enabled, device users can share the device's data connection over Bluetooth. |
| Allow USB Tethering | When enabled, device users can share the device's data connection over USB. |
Device Messaging
| Allow Incoming SMS Messaging | When enabled, device users can receive incoming SMS text messages. |
| Allow Outgoing SMS Messaging | When enabled, device users can send outgoing SMS text messages. |
| Allow Incoming MMS Messaging | When enabled, device users can receive incoming MMS multimedia messages. |
| Allow Outgoing MMS Messaging | When enabled, device users can send outgoing MMS multimedia messages. |
Security
Security Options
| Allow Doze Mode | When enabled, allows the device to restrict the SOTI MobiControl Android agent for battery optimization. |
| Allow Removal of the SOTI MobiControl Android Agent | When enabled, allows the device user to deactivate Device Administrator in the device settings and uninstall the SOTI MobiControl Android agent. |
| Allow Uninstallation of Managed Applications | When enabled, allows the device user to uninstall Managed Applications on the device. |
| Allow Multi-User Control | When enabled, allows the device user to add new user profiles or remove existing user profiles on the device.
Note: This will not remove any existing users that were created prior to applying this policy.

| Allow New Email Account Additions | When enabled, device users can add new Gmail or Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync accounts to the device.
When disabled, new accounts can still be configured by a SOTI MobiControl administrator. |
Data Protection
| Allow Google Backup | Prevent backup of device settings, application data, WiFi passwords, Contacts etc. to the user's Google account. |
| Allow Removable SD Card Access | When enabled, device users can access the SD card. |
| Allow USB On-the-Go | When enabled, device users can connect the device to other portable devices via USB. |
| Allow File Transfer Via USB | When enabled, device users can transfer files to another device when connected via USB. |
| Allow Kies | When enabled, device users can back up device, SD card and application data to their desktop using Samsung Kies. |
