Add/Edit Task Configuration

Use this dialog box to define a task you want to be executed on devices at a scheduled time.

Schedule Setting

Enable Logging Select this option if you want a log message to be sent to the SOTI MobiControl server whenever the task is executed on the device.
Note: Be careful about enabling this option if you have a lot of scripts, or if your scripts execute frequently, as a large volume of log messages can slow down the server.
Important: Logging is not available for Linux devices.
Frequency Select how frequently you want this task to be executed on the device.
  • Once: The task will be executed only one time.
  • Weekly: The task will be executed once a week, at the specified day and time.
  • Periodic: The task will be executed periodically at the specified time interval, starting at the specified date and time.
Run Task Type If the task frequency is set to Once, select one of the following options.
  • Custom: Select this option to specify a custom date and time at which you want the task to be run.
  • Immediately: Select this option to have the task run as soon as the profile is delevered to the device.
Run Task On If the task frequency is set to Once, and the run task type is set to Custom, specify the date on which you want to task to be run.
Run Every If the task frequency is set to Periodic, specify the periodic time interval at which the task will run.
Starting Date If the task frequency is set to Periodic, specify the date on which the task will start running.
Run Task Every If the task frequency is set to Weekly, specify on which day of the week you want to task to be run.
Time Specify the time at which you want the task to be run.
Execute Task At Select which time standard the task schedule should follow.
  • Device Time: Executes the script when the time set on the device matches the time set in the profile configuration.
  • UTC Time: Executes the script when Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) matches the time set in the profile configuration.

Action

Choose a default script or a previously created script from the dropdown list. You can also create a custom script by clicking the Manage Scripts button.

Once you have selected a script, a preview appears in the dialog box.
