Using Passkey Authentication
Learn how passkey authentication improves login security and user experience by eliminating manual credential entry across supported devices.
Traditional login methods rely on users repeatedly entering their usernames and passwords. This process is time-consuming, inconsistent across devices, and can frustrate users, especially in shared or high-usage environments.
Passkey authentication introduces a secure, password-less login experience for local
SOTI Identity users. It enables users to sign in quickly using
device-based verification methods such as face, fingerprint, PIN, or a hardware security
key. By reducing the need to remember and type credentials, passkeys streamline
authentication and improve productivity.
Restriction: Passkey authentication is not supported in WebViews.
You can manage passkey authentication in several ways depending on your role:
- Setting Up Passkey Authentication: Learn how to register and configure a passkey to enable password-less login.
- Managing Passkey Connections: Edit or delete existing passkey connections from your account when a device name needs updating or a passkey is no longer required.
- Managing User Passkeys as an Administrator: Disable or delete user passkeys to maintain account security and prevent unauthorized access.
