Generating a Report

About this task

The data contained in a SOTI Connect report is collected using data collection rules.

To create a report:

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, select the main menu button and select Rules.
    The Rules view opens.
  2. In the Rules view, select New Rule.
    The Add Rule wizard opens.
  3. In the Selecting a Rule Type wizard panel, select Data Collection Rule.
  4. Select Next.
  5. In the Select Devices wizard panel, select the devices or device types for which you want to generate reports.
  6. Select Next.
  7. In the Setup wizard panel, enter a unique rule name and description, the start time of data collection, and how often you want to collect the data. Notice that the Check In request is available under Action(s).
  8. Select Finish to close the Add Rule wizard and create the data collection rule.
    Note: Your report can contain many rules. To add more rules, follow steps 2 through 8.

Results

The report is created and SOTI Connect generates the report at the given start time. You can view and analyze the report in the Reports view.
