Android Enterprise | Managed Google Play
Use this application type specifically for applications available through the managed Google Play Store.
Selecting the App Type
App Selection
App Type | Select the Managed Google Play option. |
Bindings | Select a primary domain or managed enterprise from the
Select list. If the list includes more than one primary domain or managed enterprise, the domain or enterprise added first is selected. The app list displays those apps approved for the selected primary domain or managed enterprise in the Managed Google Play Store. |
Sync Apps | Select to update the list of applications approved for the selected primary domain or managed enterprise in the Managed Google Play Store. |
Apps (Search) | To filter the list of apps, start typing an app name in the search filed. The list refreshes to display only those apps that match what you have typed. |
Managed Google Play | Select to open to the Managed Google Play Store portal where you can approve apps that you want to add to the app policy. |
Application Information
In this section, you can review application information such as the display name, version, price, seller, and description. Some fields in this section might be editable. Enter/edit information in these fields as required.
Advanced Configurations
Select Configure when adding or editing an application in your app policy to open the Advanced Configurations dialog box, where you can further configure app settings.
App Details
Review application information such as the display name, version, price, seller, and description.
Installation Options
Deployment Type | Select whether the application is a requirement.
If you select Suggested, the user can choose whether to install the application. If you select Mandatory, the application installs automatically. |
App Update Mode | Select when you want the application version updated. If you select Default, the update happens automatically when the device connects to WiFi, charging and not in use. If
you select Postpone, the automatic
update delays for 90 days starting the day an update of the same app
is available on the Google Play Store. After the delay, the app
updates following the Default method described earlier. Note: You can
manually update the app during the postponement period by
visiting the Google Play Store on your devices. See Manage App Updates on
Google Play Help for more information. If you select High Priority, the update happens automatically when an update is available. |
Managed App Config
Enable Managed App Config | Turn on the toggle to enable advanced configuration for the app. |
