Editing the Samsung ELM Configuration

Before you begin

You must have an on-premises activation server already set up if you are switching the ELM configuration type to On-Premise.

About this task

The Samsung enterprise license management (ELM) configuration controls how licenses for Samsung ELM agents are activated. There are two types of ELM Configuration: Samsung (On-Cloud) (ELM is activated via Samsung's cloud-hosted Activation Server) or On-Premise (ELM is activated via an On-Premises Activation Server – for offline deployments).

Note: ELM license activation is a core aspect of Samsung device management. Exercise caution when modifying this setting.

For new enrollments, Samsung is replacing ELM licenses with the Knox Platform for Enterprise (KPE) License. Existing enrollments can stay with ELM, but KPE will be required to support new features.

To edit the Samsung ELM configuration:

Procedure

  1. Select Global Settings from the main menu.
  2. From the Settings tree on the left, select Android > Samsung ELM to display the Samsung ELM page (see Samsung ELM).
  3. Configure Samsung ELM as required:
    Server Type Select Samsung (On-Cloud) (ELM is activated via Samsung's cloud-hosted Activation Server) or On-Premise (ELM is activated via an On-Premises Activation Server – for offline deployments).
    ELM Key If you selected the On-Premise option, enter the custom key provided when you set up your on-premises activation server.
  4. Click Save.
