Firewall | Configuration Details (Android)

Use the firewall profile configuration to set up application-based and device-level firewall rules. These rules help filter web/ app traffic and re-route network traffic. The available firewall configuration options vary depending on the Android persona used:
  • Work Managed
  • Classic
  • Corporate Owned Personal Enabled (COPE)

Android Enterprise | Work Managed

The Android Enterprise firewall payload available for Work Managed devices enables users to deploy app-specific firewall rules. See Application Firewall | Android Enterprise (Work Managed).

Additionally, using the Samsung IP Firewall, users can configure Filter Traffic and Re-route Traffic rules, as available to Android Classic and COPE devices. See Firewall | Filter Rules (Samsung IP Firewall) and Firewall | Re-route Rules (Samsung IP Firewall).

Samsung IP Firewall | Android Classic & Corporate Owned Personal Enabled (COPE)

The Android Classic and Corporate Owned Personal Enabled (COPE) firewall payload only enables Samsung devices to configure advanced firewall filtering and re-routing rules. You can filter and re-route network traffic.

Filter Traffic

Use the Filter Traffic option to create rules that specify which traffic the device approves or blocks. You can create multiple filter rules to customize your network traffic control. For details, see Firewall | Filter Rules (Samsung IP Firewall).

Re-route Traffic

Use the Re-route Traffic option to create rules that determine how to reroute network traffic. You can configure more than one re-route rule to optimize your network traffic flow. For details, see Firewall | Re-route Rules (Samsung IP Firewall).
