Configuring Group Policy Objects

Configure and deploy Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to manage Windows Modern device settings using SOTI MobiControl.

Before you begin

Before configuring GPOs in SOTI MobiControl, ensure:
  1. Your account must have Manage Profiles permissions. See General Permissions.

  2. You have the SOTI MobiControl agent installed on the targeted Windows Modern devices.

About this task

Configure and deploy GPOs using SOTI MobiControl to centrally manage Windows Modern device settings, enhancing security, consistency, and compliance across your organization. GPOs allow administrators to enforce policies remotely, eliminating the need for manual configuration on individual devices.

Common use cases for GPOs include:

  • Restricting access to system settings to prevent unauthorized modifications
  • Customizing the Start Menu layout for a standardized user experience
  • Disabling USB storage to enhance data security
  • Enforcing password policies to strengthen authentication measures
  • Managing software updates to ensure devices remain up-to-date and secure

By implementing GPOs, organizations can streamline device management while maintaining control over critical system settings.
