Assigning User Roles in SOTI Identity

Before you begin

Add users and create user roles in https://pulse.soti.net/support/soti-identity/help/?V=2.5&T=/users/local/manage_local_account_users.

In the SOTI Identityadmin console, you can manage users access to applications and assign roles to different users or user groups. You can assign configured roles to different users or user groups and the users inherit the permissions defined for that role. Once you save a user role in SOTI Identity, it is automatically added to the associated application, for example SOTI MobiControl, where you can define permissions. See Defining General Permissions for details.
Note: You may want to define permissions for each role before assigning them to users.

Procedure

  1. In the SOTI Identity admin console, open the main menu in the top-left and select Applications.
  2. Select the application you want to assign users to then select Assign Userin the applications actions menu bar. The Assign User dialog box opens.
  3. Select the user or group you want to assign the role to then select Edit.
  4. Open the Role dropdown list and select all the roles you want to apply to the user or group.
  5. Select Update to save your changes.
  6. Select Done to return to the Applications list.

Results

The changes take effect for the selected users the next time they sign in.
