Logging into Shared iPad Devices

Before you begin

Configure your device as a Shared iPad. See Enrollment Policy Wizard.

About this task

Shared iPad users can sign into any Shared iPad using a Managed Apple ID. Administrators of Shared iPad devices can create Managed Apple IDs and federate them to an identity provider like Azure Active Directory.

Note: Shared iPad users can view macros in device-wide profiles or configurations.

Logging In with a Managed Apple ID

Procedure

Unlock your iPad.
From Recent Users, tap your account if it is present.
If your account name is not present:
1. Tap Other User.
2. At the prompt, enter your Managed Apple ID. Tap Return.
Enter your passcode. Tap Done.

Results

You successfully signed into the Shared iPad.

Logging In with a Microsoft Azure Account

Procedure

Unlock your iPad.
From Recent Users, tap your account if it is present.
If your account name is not present:
1. Tap Other User.
2. At the prompt, enter your Managed Apple ID. Tap Return.
Enter your passcode. Tap Done.
At the prompt, enter your Microsoft Azure user name. Tap Return.
Enter your Microsoft Azure password. Tap Done.

Results

You successfully signed into the Shared iPad.

Logging In as a Guest

Procedure

Unlock your iPad.
From Recent Users, tap Guest.
If your iPad has a Home button, press the Home button. If not, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Results

You successfully signed into the Shared iPad.

Note: Guest data is not saved at the end of the session.
