Assigning Groups to Roles

About this task

To assign groups to a role:

Procedure

  1. Select Users and Permissions from the main menu.
  2. In the left pane, select the Roles tab.
  3. Click the required role in the left pane to expand it.
  4. Click the Groups item under the role to list the groups already assigned to the role (if any) in the main pane.
  5. Click the Assign Group (+) icon in the top right corner to open the Assign Group dialog box (see Assign Group).
  6. Use dialog box controls to select groups to be assigned to the current role:
    Console Groups Type the required group name in the field to filter the list of groups below.

    This section lists all available groups whose names match what you have typed in the Console Groups field. The list includes the following fields:

    • Check box - select to assign a group to the role
    • Group Name
    • Current Roles - comma-separated names of the roles the group is currently assigned to
  7. Click Save to assign the selected group(s) to the role or Cancel to close the dialog box without assigning any groups.
