Using LifeGuard OTA for Upgrading Firmware on Zebra Devices

The minimum requirements for a device to use Zebra LifeGuard OTA are as follows:

  • The device is a Zebra device
  • The device is enrolled as AE
  • The device meets the OS requirements:
    • Android 10: C21 and TC26
    • Android O and P: TC52, TC72, and PS20
    • Android O: TC57, TC77, TC20, TC25, TC83, VC83, MC93, EC30, ET51, ET56, CC600, CC6000, and L10A
    • Android N with LG Update 19 and later, as well as O: TC51, TC56, TC70x, TC75x, VC80x, and MC33
  • Zebra Data Services (ZDS) are enabled on the device (ZDS are enabled by default)
  • The device meets the minimum requirements for FOTA

To upgrade firmware on Zebra devices using LifeGuard OTA:

  1. Register a Zebra LifeGuard OTA account for your SOTI MobiControl instance. See Register Zebra LifeGuard OTA Account for more information.
  2. Enroll the participating Zebra devices in the OTA program. See Enroll Zebra Devices for LifeGuard OTA Firmware Upgrades for more information.
