Upgrade Firmware on Zebra Devices with LifeGuard OTA

Before you begin

Register a Zebra LifeGuard OTA account for your SOTI MobiControl instance. For procedure, see Register Zebra LifeGuard OTA Account.

Enroll your Zebra devices into the LifeGuard OTA upgrades. For procedure, see Enroll Zebra Devices for LifeGuard OTA Firmware Upgrades.

To upgrade firmware on a Zebra device:

On the console, find the required device or device group and select Upgrade Firmware from the Device Actions menu. The Upgrade Firmware dialog box (see Upgrade Firmware (Zebra OTA)) appears.
The dialog box lists the selected devices grouped by their model and current firmware version.
From the Target Firmware drop-down list, select the required firmware version for each of the device groups.

Choose one of the following options:

select Do it Later to schedule the upgrade for a later time. For this option, set the following parameters:

Download Start Date	Choose the date to start downloading the firmware upgrade to selected devices
Download Start Time	Choose the time range to download the firmware upgrade to selected devices
Installation Start Date	Choose the date to start installing the firmware upgrade on selected devices
Installation Start Time	Choose the time range to start installing the firmware upgrade on selected devices

Select Upgrade Firmware.
The upgrade starts.
Optional: Watch the upgrade status in the Device Information panel, under the Firmware Upgrades section of the Device Details tab.
A success message appears iff the firmware upgrade on the selected devices completes as requested. If any of the selected devices fail to upgrade, a warning message appears at the bottom of the dialog box. You can expand the message to see the failure details.
