Revoking App Store Licenses on Other MDM Instances

Before you begin

You must have ownership of the App Store License account to perform this action.

About this task

This action "cleans up" App Store licenses for the selected account. That is, the licenses (both device-based and user-based) that were not assigned by this instance of SOTI MobiControl are revoked. The newly revoked licenses then become available for reassignment by this SOTI MobiControl instance. SOTI MobiControl may occasionally assign the licenses to Apple ID endpoints that are unmanaged and created by different MDM instances. A clean up request retires these unmanaged endpoints and reassigns the licenses to a managed endpoint.

Note: This may cause SOTI MobiControl to require the user to accept Apple's Terms of Use again.

To revoke App Store licenses consumed by other MDM instances:

Procedure

  1. Select Global Settings from the main menu.
  2. From the Settings tree on the left, select Apple > App Store License Management to display the App Store License Management page (see App Store License Management).
  3. On the Accounts list, select an account.
  4. From the account's context menu, select Clean Up.
