Configuring Microsoft Exchange Server

About this task

Note: Microsoft no longer supports basic authentication to their Exchange Server. Therefore, to have SOTI XSight send and receive emails via Microsoft Exchange Server, certain configurations are required.

The configuration workflow is as follows:

Procedure

  1. Set up a Microsoft tenant.
  2. Register with Microsoft:
    1. Obtain Client ID, Tenant ID, and Client Secret associated with the Microsoft Exchange setup.
    2. Set Mail.ReadWrite and Mail.Send permissions on the API.
  3. Using the client and tenant information obtained from Microsoft, set up the outbound and inbound Office 365 email for the SOTI XSight group(s) that will use Exchange Server.
