Using Settings Manager
The Settings Manager app provides controlled access to a subset of device settings while a device is in lockdown mode. Use the Settings Manager to grant or restrict access to specific system settings on Android devices, ensuring users can only interact with approved device settings.
Use the Settings Manager for:
- Controlled Access: Let users adjust only the settings you approve (for example, Wi-Fi, brightness, sound).
- Enhanced Security: Prevent users from tampering with sensitive settings while still allowing basic functionality.
- Custom Lockdown Experience: Tailor which settings are available during Lockdown mode.
- Display: Brightness, screen rotation, timeout
- Sound: Ringtone, media, notification, system volume
- Wi-Fi: Enable, scan, add, modify networks
- Bluetooth: Enable, pair, scan, visibility
- Time Zone: Manual sync, SNTP server settings
- Manage Access Point Name
- Manage Device Security
- Flashlight
Note: Administrators can remove device user access to any of these
settings at any time.
To use Settings Manager, you must install the app on the devices and assign a profile containing the Settings Manager, Lockdown and Authentication configurations to those same devices. The Settings Manager app is compatible with devices running Android 4.2 and later.
