Wi-Fi (Android Classic)
Configure Wi-Fi settings on your devices when:
General: Network
Network Name | The name of the network to which the device should connect to. This is also the name of the wireless policy. |
Set as Active Network | If toggled on, enables or restricts the device to connect to the
Wi-Fi network automatically when you push the profile configuration
to the agent for the first time. Note: Assigning a new Wi-Fi profile
with Set as Active Network enabled replaces the existing
Wi-Fi profile only if the Wi-Fi signal strength is 'Good' or
higher. |
Disable MAC Randomization | If toggled on, enables the user to disable the random Media Access Control (MAC)
address for the Wi-Fi network when sent from the SOTI MobiControl via the profile. Note: Assigning a new
Wi-Fi profile with Disable MAC
Randomization enabled replaces the existing
Wi-Fi configuration and requires Android OS 13 and
later. |
General: Security
Security Type | The security protocol currently used on the network. You can select
WEP, WPA/WPA2, 802.1x
Enterprise, or None. If you select the 802.1x Enterprise security protocol, the following configuration section appears: In the Protocols section, you can select TLS, LEAP, EAP-FAST, TTLS, and PEAP.In the Authentication section, you can set the following options: Restriction: 802.1x Wi-Fi is
only supported on certain devices. Check Vendor Compatibility Matrix: 802.1x Enterprise WiFi for
supported devices.

Password | Enter the password required to connect to the network. |
Proxy
Proxy | SOTI MobiControl offers automatically or manually configurable proxies. When selecting Automatic, enter a URL in the URL field. When selecting Manual, enter data in the Proxy Server and Exceptions fields. |
URL | If you select Automatic as the proxy setting, enter the proxy URL here. |
Proxy Server | If you select Manual, enter the address, and (optionally) the port number, for the proxy server. |
Exceptions | If you select Manual, enter any host exceptions that you want to connect directly to instead of through the proxy. Use commas to separate host exceptions. |
