Using the Windows Modern App Catalog

Important: The App Catalog only displays applications marked by administrators as visible during the app policy configuration. After adding apps to your App Policy, verify that applications are manageable through the app policy by reviewing the Visible in App Catalog column. Configure apps if required by selecting the three dots and perform a device check-in to reflect these changes.

The App Catalog application installs on your Windows Modern devices with the SOTI MobiControl Windows Modern Device Agent application. It streamlines app management and distribution, allowing administrators to configure and deploy apps through SOTI MobiControl. End users access and install them via the App Catalog application interface. It also enhances visibility and control over enforced and optional apps, ensuring efficient management and reducing user confusion.

App Catalog categorizes deployed applications based on their sources into the following:
  • Modern Enterprise Apps (MSIX/ APPX)
  • Microsoft Store Apps
  • Classic Apps (MSI)
  • Executables (EXE)

Application Tabs

When using an Application Catalog, switch between the following tabs to view your applications:
  • All Apps: This view includes your App Library listing all available applications as deployed in the App Policy.
  • Installed Apps: This view lists only installed applications.

Choose between a Grid or a List layout by selecting their toggles as desired. The List view offers the same information as the Grid view, such as applications' names, types, sources, versions, and descriptions, except in a list form. Additionally, you can filter applications by their source when viewing them in List view.
