Schedule

Before you begin

Complete the required information in the Choose Data tab.

Use the Schedule tab to specify how often devices collect the requested data, and how much data devices should retain for each data item.

In Schedule, complete the following information for Data Collection Schedule:


Frequency Type	Select the recurrence for the data collection to execute. Options are: Once—Schedule a one-time data collection. Weekly—Schedule a data collection to occur once per week. Periodically—Schedule a data collection to occur on a custom cycle.
Every	For weekly and periodic schedules, specify the recurring interval between data collection.
On	For data collections that occur once, specify the date.
Start Date	For periodic schedules, specify the date when the schedule becomes active.
Start Time	Give the time of day when the data collection executes.

Set conditions for automated Data Truncation:


Maximum Data Retained on Device	Specify the maximum amount of data (in kilobytes) devices retain for each collected item before truncating. Truncating prevents devices from accumulating excessive data when they are out of contact for an extended period.
Maximum Retention Period	Specify the maximum period (in days) the server retains the data before deleting it. To disable data truncation, enter `0` (zero).

Optional: To save your policy and assign it later, select Save. When you are ready to assign the policy, follow the steps in Assigning a Data Collection Policy.
Optional: To save your policy and assign it now, select Save and Assign. Follow the steps in Assigning a Data Collection Policy.

You have created your data collection policy. It is available to assign to devices immediately or later.
