Assign (App Policy)

Use the Assign dialog box to choose which devices or device groups an app policy is assigned to - see Assigning App Policies. You can also assign or re-assign a policy while:

Only the Devices tab is mandatory. You do not need to modify the Users or Filters tab if they're not applicable.

Devices

Use the Devices tab to select the devices or device groups this policy will be assigned to.

Select a device group in the left pane to display its enrolled devices in the right pane. Use the check box next to each device name to select or deselect devices.

To search for a device group, select the Search icon and enter a complete or partial group name. Matching groups replace the "all groups" list. To return to the full list, select x in the search field. If no matches are found, a message appears below the search field.

Users

Use the Users tab to select one or more directory service or identity provider groups to determine which devices are assigned the policy.

You can specify that devices belonging to a directory service or identity provider group are either included in, or excluded from, compliance policy assignment.

Filters

Use the Filters tab to further restrict the devices assigned to this policy. Filters use the same logic as the Devices search bar to apply criteria.

Select the Add a filter field to activate it. A dropdown list appears with the extended and device properties that you can use to refine your assignment criteria.

Use the logical and Boolean operators to construct your filters:

  • Use AND to limit assignment to only those devices which meet all the criteria.
  • Use OR to allow assignment to any device that meets at least one criterion.
Note: Not all extended or device properties are available for use with filter criteria. Not all filter types are supported on all the platforms.

To edit a filter, double-click the filter and then place your mouse cursor beside the filter value to edit the value or select the operator to edit the operator.

To remove a filter, select it and once it turns blue, select Delete.
