Creating Users

About this task

To create a new user account for the SOTI MobiControl console:

Procedure

  1. Select Users and Permissions from the main menu.
  2. In the left pane, select the Users tab.
  3. Click the + icon at the top of the left pane to open the New User dialog box (see the New User).
  4. Define the user parameters as required:
    User Type Select MobiControl or Directory.
    Username Enter the user name.
    Password Appears for the MobiControl user type. Enter the user password.
    Email Appears for the MobiControl user type. Optionally, enter the user email address.
    Users Appears for the Directory user type. Click the + icon. Select the required directory from the drop-down list. Start typing the name of the directory user in the search field. Select the required user(s) from the list that appears. The selected user(s) appear(s) in the Users section. To remove a user from that section, click the Delete icon in that user's row. Optionally, click the Manage Services button and select an option from the list that appears. This opens the corresponding Global Settings dialog box where you can add or edit directories or Identity Provider domains. See Directory and Identity Provider.
    Roles

    This section lists all roles defined in your SOTI MobiControl instance. Turn on toggles of those roles you want to assign to the user.

  5. Click Save to save the new user or Cancel to close the dialog box without saving changes.

Review the access control policies for the SOTI MobiControl console and update them as necessary.
