Downloading New Android Plugins
About this task
Note: Not all device agents have a corresponding device plugin.
To download Android device plugins to the SOTI MobiControl database:
Procedure
- Select Global Settings from the main menu.
- From the Settings tree on the left, select to display the Device Agent and Plugin page (see Device Agent and Plugin Page.
- Click the + icon to display the Device Agent and Plugin dialog box (see Device Agent and Plugin Dialog Box).

Use the dialog box's controls to download the required plugin:
Important: Match the device plugin to the model of the device, even for Android Enterprise devices. If you are unsure of the device model, you can download all the models for a device manufacturer and when you install the plugin, SOTI MobiControl will choose the correct plugin for the model.
Device Plugins (search field) Enter at least two characters of the name of the manufacturer whose device plugins you want to see. Device Plugins (list) Scroll to navigate the list of device plugin manufacturers. To view the list of manufacturer-specific plugins, click the right-pointing chevron icon by the manufacturer's name. Manufacturer-specific item list (when expanded) - Device Model - the model of the device the plugin is intended for
- Latest Version - click the link to download the latest version of the plugin to your computer
- Install - click the button to install the latest version on your computer
- Click OK.
Results
You can now install the selected device plugin on Android devices.
