Login Window
The Login Window profile configuration enables you to control the look and feel of the device login window, including options for logging in and directory user access to the device. You perform this configuration when:
Window
Use this tab to control the user's login options and whether to show sleep, restart, and shut down options in the login window.
Show Additional Information In Menu Bar | Show additional information in the menu bar, including hostname, macOS version, and IP address when the menu bar is selected. |
Banner | Enter a custom banner message that will be displayed above the login prompt. |
Name and Password Text Fields | Display username and password field in the login window. |
List of Users Able to Use These Computers | Display the users that can use these computers in the login window. The following user types can be displayed:

Shut Down | Show the Shut Down button in the login window. |
Restart | Show the Restart button in the login window. |
Sleep | Show the Sleep button in the login window. |
Show Password Hint When Needed and Available | Show a password hint and set the number of retries before the hint is shown if available. |
Allow Automatic Login | Allow automatic login. |
Enable Console Access | Enable console access. |
Enable Fast User Switching | Enable fast user switching. |
Log Out User After Inactivity | Enter the number of minutes of inactivity that must elapse before the user is automatically logged out. |
Computer Administrator May Refresh or Disable Management | Enable the computer administrator to refresh or disable management. |
Set Computer Name to Computer Record Name | Set the computer name to the computer record name. |
Enable External Accounts | Enable external accounts. |
Allow Guest User | Allow guest user. |
User Access
Use this tab to configure which users and groups can log into the device.
This tab works only with directory users, not local users on the device. The same domains must be configured on the device from which SOTI MobiControl is pulling the users.
Add Allowed Users or Groups | Click the Add button to open a dialog box in which you can select the users or groups you want to add to the list of users and groups that are allowed to log into the device. |
Add Excluded Users or Groups | Click the Add button to open a dialog box in which you can select the users or groups you want to add to the list of users and groups that are not allowed to log into the device. |
Local-Only Users May Log In | Allow local-only users to log into the device. |
Local-Only Users Use Available Workgroup Settings | Use available workgroup settings and nesting for local-only users. |
Ignore Workgroup Nesting | Ignore workgroup nesting. |
Combine Available Workgroup Settings | Combine available workgroup settings. |
Always Show Workgroup Dialog During Login | Always show the workgroup dialog box during login. |
