SOTI Surf is a secure mobile browser that allows your device users to securely access your corporate intranet without the use of VPN and within the same application as the internet.
This topic describes how to send the SOTI Surf app to your devices. Before beginning, ensure that you have configured your environment to properly incorporate SOTI Surf. For more information on SOTI Surf, its features and its integration with MobiControl, refer to SOTI Surf.
The SOTI Surf app is compatible with devices running Android 4.0+ or iOS 8+ and is available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play store.
You can use either an application catalog rule or a package to send the SOTI Surf app to your devices. SOTI recommends using an application catalog rule so devices can easily receive app updates through the Apple App and Google Play stores. However, if that is not possible for your environment due to security concerns or other reasons, use a package.
Note: Choose App Store Application for your iOS devices and Google Play Store (or Google Play for Work ) Application for you Android or Android for Work devices.
Device users cannot access the SOTI Surf app until a SOTI Surf profile configuration has also been assigned to their device.
Note
You cannot send packages to iOS devices. While the SOTI Surf app is available on iOS devices, Apple's security restrictions prevent SOTI from providing .ipa files outside of the Apple App Store.
Note: Consider putting the SOTI Surf package in the same profile as the SOTI Surf profile configuration that configures it, for simplicity.
Devices users cannot use the SOTI Hub app until you have configured your content repository through the SOTI Hub profile configuration.
