Before you begin
Install SOTI Assist on all the servers you want to include in the load balanced environment.
SOTI Assist uses RSA keys to establish secure connections between separate SOTI Assist servers. To connect servers, you need to export an RSA key from one server and then import it into the rest.
To establish a secure connection between load balanced servers:
-
On any of your SOTI Assist servers, open the SOTI Assist Administration Utility.
-
Select Keys from the menu on the left.
-
Choose a server from the Host Target dropdown list. This lists all of the other servers connected to the same database as the current server.
-
Click Export Keys and then OK to confirm.
Note: When you import the RSA keys into the host target, it will overwrite any existing keys used by that instance of SOTI Assist.
The RSA keys are encrypted and stored in the database.
-
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the rest of the servers.
-
On the host target server, open SOTI Assist Administration Utility and the Keys menu.
-
Click Import Keys. The database will select the right set of keys and import them into the server.
Once the keys are imported, the SOTI Assist Administration Utility runs a health check on the keys.
-
Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the rest of the servers.
Note: You may see errors in the SOTI Assist Administration Utility until the import process is complete on that server.
Connections are now secured between SOTI Assist servers.
