Enroll Zebra Devices for LifeGuard OTA Firmware Upgrades
Before you begin
You must register a Zebra LifeGuard OTA account for your SOTI MobiControl instance. See Register Zebra LifeGuard OTA Account for details.
Minimum requirements:
- The device you are enrolling for OTA firmware upgrades is a Zebra device enrolled as Android Enterprise.
- The device must meet the following OS requirements:
- Android 10: C21 and TC26
- Android O and P: TC52, TC72, and PS20
- Android O: TC57, TC77, TC20, TC25, TC83, VC83, MC93, EC30, ET51, ET56, CC600, CC6000, and L10A
- Android N with LG update 19 and higher, and O: TC51, TC56, TC70x, TC75x, VC80x, and MC33
- The device must run Zebra Data Services (ZDS).Note: ZDS is enabled by default.
- The device must meet the minimum requirements for FOTA.

To enroll Zebra devices for LifeGuard OTA firmware upgrades:
Procedure
- Define an app policy using either Managed Google Play or the Enterprise App Store as the app source. Then add the Zebra Enrollment Manager and Zebra Common Transport Layer as mandatory applications. See Android Enterprise | Managed Google Play or Android Enterprise | Enterprise App Store for more details.
- For Zebra Enrollment Manager, open the Advanced Configurations and select the Managed App Config tab.

Enable Managed App Config and select Claim
Device from the Action dropdown. Then assign the app policy to
your devices.
Important: If you are creating an app policy using the Enterprise App Store, skip the following steps.
- Create a profile for your Zebra devices or select an existing profile for editing. Add the Managed Google Play configuration, and turn on the Application Feedback toggle to receive the enrollment status updates.
- Set the Application Updates type to Always Update. See Editing a Profile for details.
Results
You can now perform OTA firmware upgrades on the enrolled devices (see Upgrade Firmware on Zebra Devices with LifeGuard OTA). You can review the enrollment details on the

Note: To
unenroll a device from Zebra LifeGuard OTA, you must either unenroll or delete
it from SOTI MobiControl.
