Performing Device Actions

About this task

Device actions are quick operations such as locking a device remotely or sending a message to a device. You can execute device actions on:

A single device.
Many devices. See Performing Device Actions on Multiple Devices.
A device group. See Performing Group Device Actions.

While not all device types support all device actions, SOTI MobiControl notifies you of any restrictions or compatibility issues when executing the device action. See Available Device Actions for a complete list of available device actions.

To perform a device on action on a device:

Procedure

Select the device from the Devices view in the SOTI MobiControl web console.
A device actions bar appears along the bottom of the console with a list of bookmarked device action.

Tip: You can pin often-used actions to the top list of device actions in your device's information panel. See Bookmarking Device Actions for more information.
Select from the bookmarked device actions or select (more) to see a complete list of available device actions for that device.
Optional: Select a device action from the top-right section of a selected device's information panel.
