Viewing Device Information

View device information that SOTI MobiControl tracks in its device information panels. Including device status information (battery level, connectivity), applied policies and configurations, installed applications, device location, and more.

Tip: Select the Refresh icon in the Device Information panel to make sure that you see the latest device information. A notification to refresh the Devices list also appears if there is a change to a device.

Select a device's name in the Devices view to open its Device Information panel. SOTI MobiControl categorizes device information in the following tabs.

Tab Name Contents
Device Details This tab lists device properties and their values. Available device properties on the Device Details tab differ depending on device type. Use the Search bar at the top to filter the available properties.
Compliance Includes a list of compliance policies and potential actions assigned to the selected device.
Configurations Includes a list of profiles, assigned rules, and advanced configurations applied to the selected device.
Applications Includes a list of applications installed on the selected device.
Location Includes a map (powered by Bing Maps) to locate your device, create geofences, and review location history.
Scripts Lists the scripts' results installed on the device with Capture Script Status and Output enabled. Security Includes a list of digital certificates of the selected device. There is also a Quarantine section for Android Plus devices where you can review files quarantined by the Antivirus Protection profile configuration.
Collected Data Includes the information gathered by data collection policies applied to the selected device.
Logs Includes logs on device activity.
Content Includes a list of files downloaded on the device according to the Content Library policy. This is available on Android Plus and Apple devices only.
Notes Includes user-made notes about the selected device.

Device Details Tab

The Device Details tab categorizes information into the following sections.

Important: Antivirus details are not automatically updated after upgrading SOTI MobiControl. Perform a device scan to populate this section with antivirus-related information.
Restriction: SOTI MobiControl 15.4.3 is the minimum SOTI MobiControl Device Agent version required to view Virtual Private Network (VPN) IPv4 and VPN IPv6. Corporate Owned Personally Enabled (COPE) devices do not support this feature.

Section Details
Device Details This section lists device details, including Device Kind, Device Family, OS Version, and more.
Note: Available device details vary by platform. See Device Details by Platform for a list of device details by platform.
Logged-in User For Windows Modern devices operating on Windows OS versions 10 and 11, this section provides details about the currently logged-in user. The information includes:
  • Username
  • Full Name
  • Domain Name
  • Identifier
  • Last Checked Time
SOTI MobiControl checks the logged-in user every 10 minutes and updates these details if the user changes.
Tip: Navigate to the Logs tab to view the last-logged in user details. Check Current User logs.
Managed Administrator Account This section is only available for macOS devices enrolled using an enrollment policy with Enabled Automated Device Enrollment. The Account Type must be Managed. See Enrollment Policy Wizard: Account Type for details.
Software Updates
  • Available OS Update: The operating system and the version number.
    Tip: For iOS-supported devices, a letter after the version number [such as 16.4(a)] refers to a Rapid Security Response OS version.

The Configurations Tab categorizes information into the following sections.

  • Status:
    • Installed
    • Installed Partially:
      • Apple: Occurs when a compatible Apple device uses a declarative profile with an unmet or unknown Activation condition. See Activations (Declarative) for details.
  • Protocol: Whether the assigned Apple device profile uses the MDM (reactive) or the DDM (declarative) protocol.
