Lockdown (Windows Desktop Classic)
Use this dialog box to define lockdown configurations for Windows Desktop Classic devices.
Device lockdown replaces the standard device home screen with a custom home screen that provides access only to authorized applications and websites. See Lockdown | Using the Configuration for details on deploying the configuration to your devices.
- Device Control—Continuously applied lockdown settings.
- Speed Control—Lockdown settings applied when the device's speed exceeds the speed specified in the lockdown configuration.

User
Use this tab to specify options for user device lockdown.
Custom Home Screen
Templates are HTML files that dictate how the device's home screen items display when in lockdown mode. You can use a template provided by SOTI MobiControl or create your own.
Login Options
When enabled, device users are automatically logged into the lockdown menu using the specified credentials.
Automatically Log in Upon Device Boot Up | Enable this option to automatically log device users into the lockdown menu on device boot-up using the specified credentials. |
Domain | Enter the domain name for the user account. [Appears when the Automatically Log in Upon Device Boot Up is on.] |
Username | Enter the username for the account. [Appears when the Automatically Log in Upon Device Boot Up is on.] |
Password | Enter a password for the specified username. [Appears when the Automatically Log in Upon Device Boot Up is on.] |
Admin
Use this tab to specify options for administrator device lockdown.

Speed Control
Use this tab to specify options for Speed Control Lockdown. Speed Control Lockdown triggers when the device is traveling at or over a set speed, as specified in this section. Tracking differences in device location (using the device's GPS unit) are use to calculate the speed of the device over time.

Under Advanced Speed Control Settings, you can specify the following settings:
Advanced Speed Control Settings
Activation Time | Specify the starting time during each day that you want speed control to possibly be active on the device. |
Deactivation Time | Specify the ending time during each day when you want speed control to possibly be active on the device. |
Speed Control Starts At | Enter the speed at which speed control triggers, and the
speed measurement unit. Note: When the
device travels at or over this speed, Speed Control Lockdown
does not apply until the time specified in the
Engage Timer field has
expired.

Engage Timer | Enter the time (in seconds) during which the device travels at or o the threshold speed before the device enters the Speed Control Lockdown. This delay helps prevent the excessive applying of Speed Control Lockdown. |
Disengage Timer | Enter the time (in seconds) during which the device travels below the threshold speed before the device exists the Speed Control Lockdown. This delay helps prevent the excessive removal of Speed Control Lockdown. |
Scripts | You can set scripts to activate when a device enters or exits speed control. To add a new script, select Manage Scripts to open the Manage Scripts dialog box. |
Speed Control is Activated | Select the script you want executed on the device when the device enters the Speed Control Lockdown. |
Speed Control is Deactivated | Select the script you want executed on the device when the device exits the Speed Control Lockdown. |

Manage Templates
To create a new custom template, select Add to open the Lockdown: Custom Templates dialog box. SeeCustom Templates.
You can edit, duplicate, or delete your custom templates. You can also upload an HTML template file to SOTI MobiControl. Select Import Template then browse to the HTML file on your computer. Select Import.
