Add Home Screen Items

Use this dialog while configuring lockdown for Windows Desktop Classic or Windows Desktop Modern devices.

Specify the display name and the program path or URL of an item you want to add to the lockdown menu. You can also specify an image for the lockdown menu item. You do this when:

Display Name Enter the display name of the menu item that appears on the device.
Program Path or URL Enter the file path on the device, or the URL, for an executable program that launches when you select the menu item. The path/URL does not display on the lockdown menu.
Note:
  • Use a comma with no adjoining spaces to separate the program path from any required command-line arguments. For example: C:\Program Files\MyProg\Prog.exe,param1 param2.
  • If the program path has spaces, you must enclose the path using %22 instead of double quotation marks ( " ).
Use Custom Image (Optional) Enable the toggle to select the file name of the image you want displayed for this lockdown menu item. The image automatically delivers to the device with the lockdown configuration. Select an image file from the list or select Browse File to select an image file from your local file system.

To display this image in the lockdown menu, you must include the <MCDispImgN> tag in the HTML template. See Customizing Lockdown Menu Templates for more information.

Note: If you want to replace a previously imported image, upload a new image file while maintaining the same name as the old one. Confirm the overwriting of the old image file. Select Yes, and the new image displays.
