Single-App Kiosk Mode | Configuration Details
The Windows Modern Single-App Kiosk Mode profile configuration restricts device users' access
to the device by limiting them to a single application specified by the
administrator. Device users cannot access other applications or device controls
while Single-App Kiosk Mode is active.
Restriction: Only one Kiosk Mode
profile configuration may exist on a device.

Multi-App Kiosk Mode offers a more flexible approach to locking down your devices. You can configure many authorized applications for your user accounts or groups. See Multi-App Kiosk Mode for more details.
Install the application on the device before applying the Kiosk Mode profile configuration. You can apply Single-App Kiosk Mode to a local device account, a domain account, or a Microsoft account. You do this when:
Enable Macros |
Enable macros to select the Enrolled User Name as the User
Account. Toggle off Enable Macros to add local user
or domain user details.
Restriction: Macros are only active for directory
joined Windows Modern devices. |
User Account | Enter the user account for the Kiosk Mode profile application. Kiosk Mode supports
local accounts, domain accounts, or Microsoft accounts:

Add Application | Choose between Available Applications and Custom Applications. Note: Windows 11 Desktop and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise devices
support only Modern applications.

Application Type | Select the type of application you wish to add. Choose either Modern or Classic as the application type. |
Application Name | Select an Application from the drop-down list if adding an Available Application. Specify the application name when adding a Custom Application. |
Application Path | [This field is auto populated when adding a Classic Available Application.] Specify the path of your application when adding a Classic Custom Application. |
AUMID | [This field is auto populated when adding a Modern Available Application.] Specify the
Application User Model Identifier (AUMID) when adding a Modern
Custom Application. Tip: Use the
Windows Companion for SOTI MobiControl application to find this
information. |
Edge Kiosk URL |
Specify the default web page that loads when the Edge browser starts or restarts. This feature is compatible with Microsoft Edge version 87 and Windows 10 Version 1909 or later. |
Microsoft Edge Kiosk | Specify the Microsoft Edge Kiosk mode type. Choose between Public Browsing (InPrivate) and Digital/ Interactive Signage (InPrivate). |
Refresh Browser After Idle Time | Specify when the Microsoft Edge browser restarts. The available range is between 0 to 1440 minutes. |
Important: Once you assign the profile, you must reboot the devices for
the Kiosk Mode profile configuration to take effect. You should also reboot the
device when you revoke the profile configuration.
