Renewing ADE Accounts
Before you begin
You must have an Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) account bound to an MDM server in Apple Business Manager.
About this task
To ensure continuity in the Automated Device Enrollment of company-owned Apple devices, an ADE account must be renewed before its MDM server token expires.
To renew an ADE account:
Procedure
- Select Global Settings from the main menu.
- From the Settings tree on the left, select Automated Device Enrollment page (see Automated Device Enrollment). to open the
- In the Accounts section, find the ADE account whose MDM server token is about to expire (see MDM Server Token Expiry). Click that account's name to display the Accounts dialog box where you can edit the selected account's settings (see Accounts | Automated Device Enrollment).
- Optional: In the Account field, edit the name for the selected ADE account.
-
If the SOTI MobiControl public key has expired (see MobiControl Public Key Expiry below), click the Generate button to generate a new SOTI MobiControl public key.
You will then need to upload this key to your MDM server in Apple Business Manager and download the corresponding MDM server token. The name of the correct MDM server in Apple Business Manager equals the value of the account's MDM Server field.
-
If you haven't yet downloaded a new MDM Server Token from your MDM Server in Apple Business Manager, do so. Then upload the new MDM Server Token to the MDM Server Token field. You can browse for the token file or drag and drop it into the field.
Note: The act of downloading an MDM server token from your MDM server in Apple Business Manager invalidates the existing MDM server token. This operation cannot be aborted or undone.
Once the token is uploaded, the MDM Server Token Expiry field automatically updates with the new expiry date.
- Click Save to save changes and renew the ADE account.
Results
The new MDM server token is valid for one year. When the token is near expiration, SOTI MobiControl issues a reminder to download a new token.
